START YOUR BUSINESS (SYB)

Business Awareness Handbook

This component takes participants through a step-by-step programme that helps participants assess;

1. their readiness to start a business,

2. the amount of money they have to start a business, and finally

3. to choose a business idea.

The SYB Business Awareness component helps participants to assess their suitability for starting a business and to choose a realistic business idea.

This component of the programme teaches participants how to;

1. prepare a business plan (marketing, business organization, legal responsibilities, work conditions and productivity improvements, and business finance),

2. assess the viability of the business plan, and

3. prepare an action plan for starting the business.

Business Planning Handbook

The international SYB training material has been adapted to suit the PNG environment and the needs of the people of PNG. The SYB Business Planning component teaches participants the steps to follow when starting a business. When completed the participants will have a Business Plan and an Action Plan for starting their business.
